Its time to get beyond recruiting your best friend and your relatives and dive into what network marketing is really all about. NETWORKING! Anyone you know who is making serious money in a network marketing business I can assure is way past badgering family and friends. Not that you don't want them to have the chance to say yeh or nay to your opportunity, but rather you're just totally not depending on that for your success.
The objective is to find people who are looking for opportunity at the time when they are most motivated to act. Its rare that you will find many of those people in your immediate circle of friends so it may be necessary for you to expand your circle... and I mean really expand it. So here are some tips on marketing that will help.
1. Remember that first and foremost network marketing is about building relationships. People are likely to buy or work with you if they first know, like and trust you. You don't have to be bosom buddies but you do need to first establish some kind of rapport with a person. So the first sale is not your stuff...its you, who you are and what you are about.
2. Once that is established then...what do you know about your new acquaintance? Are they even interested in your product, service or business opportunity? Do you know what they are interested in? Have you spent any time trying to find out? All of these things add up in the annals of success. You don't have to personally sponsor a lot of people but you do want to sponsor a few who are truly interested.
3. What is your system for helping them build their relationships and business. After all do you think that they really care that your company did a billion dollars last year. People are interested in how they are going to build their own businesses and what tools and systems do you have that will assist them in creating their own income.
4. Be prepared to ask questions and listen for needs. Some one once told me "God gave you two ears and one mouth, use them proportionately." I can't tell you how many times I have been on the phone with someone about something I was truly interested in and got off not interested any more because the person talked me out of it. They were so busy trying to sell me on the beauty of their offer that they never even thought to ask me what was my motivation for even inquiring. They just flew straight into a sales pitch and ended up pitching themselves right out of the sale.
5. Create your sales system. Network marketing is a profession...treat it like one. Educate yourself just like you would if you were planning to be a doctor or a lawyer. Every person I know who is earning six figures or more in a network marketing business is doing it because they approached the business with a professional point of view. That means get good coaches and mentors, do your home work, become a professional and create your system. Your income will grow proportionate to your attitude, work ethic, and growing expertise.
6. Never give up!!! You have a dream. I am assuming that your dream is the reason you're in a network marketing business or are considering it. The people you are partnering with have a dream also. If you give up on yours, then you are not the person to lead them to theirs.
7. Their are a ton of successful strategies out there to build your relationships and your business especially using the social networks. Choose one strategy and stick with it until you are an expert at it. If you're going to use twitter then become an expert at using twitter. If you're going to use facebook then become and expert at that, but become good at some system.
8. Do the things that generate income at least 5 times a day. 1) meet 20 people 2) connect with 5 people 3) show your business opportunity to five people per week who have an interest in creating income for themselves for some reason that is important to them 4) know what those reasons are before you mention a single word about your opportunity or product.
How many times have you heard it said "you will get what you want, when you help enough people get what they want"? Now, how many people do you know that actually take the time to genuinely find out what another person wants?
Its really quite simple but most people are so consumed with what they want, they don't take much time to find out what's really important to the other guy. That simple adjustment will make you a ton of money, and more importantly some lasting friendships!
